Applications built is installations as a share of applications; both are running totals. Rooftops added is the change in the portal's running total between our morning readings of 29 September and 6 October 2026. No. 1 is the highest figure. Rooftops and applications are ranked among all 36 states and UTs; per lakh people among the 35 with a figure shown.

Rooftop solar figures are read every morning from the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana national portal (pmsuryaghar.gov.in, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy), with a daily record kept since 29 August 2026. Population is the projected population on 1 March 2026 from the Report of the Technical Group on Population Projections 2011-2036 (National Commission on Population, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare), Table 8, base Census 2011.
